Privacy Policy

We collect only what we need to make and deliver your books. We never sell or share your personal information.

1. The short version

We collect what we need to make, store, and deliver your books. We do not sell or share your personal information.

2. What we collect

  • Account: email, display name, pen name, profile photo and bio if you add them.
  • Books: the topics you ask for and the books we make for you.
  • Reading: your reading spot, bookmarks, highlights, and notes.
  • Purchases: what you bought and when. Card details go straight to our payment processor. We never see or store them.
  • Messages: anything you send us through the Contact page.
  • Technical logs: sign-in times, device type, and error reports, used to keep the site working and safe.

3. How we use it

  • To make your books and email you when they're ready.
  • To keep your library, reading spot, and highlights in sync.
  • To process purchases and pay creator credits.
  • To answer your messages and stop abuse.

4. Ads

Free reading may show ads, provided by Google. Ads are matched to the topic of the book you're reading — never to you. We don't give advertisers any of your personal information, and we don't build advertising profiles.

Where the law requires explicit consent for advertising cookies (such as the EU, UK and Switzerland), we simply don't show ads, rather than asking you to agree to anything.

5. Who else handles your data

We use trusted service providers to run the site: hosting and database, email delivery, payment processing, and the AI models that write the books. They only process data so we can provide the service. We don't sell your information to anyone.

6. Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask to see, correct, or delete your data. You can delete your account yourself in My Account. Residents of US states with privacy laws, such as California, have these rights by law. For anything else, use the Contact page.

7. Children

Anyone can read and create books without an account. We don't knowingly collect personal information, including an email, from children under 13. If you think a child has given us their details, tell us and we'll delete them.

8. How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we remove your profile, reading history, highlights, and private books. Purchase records and published books stay, as described in the Terms. Technical logs are deleted after a short time.
